Ecumenical Passion Play in Alresford, Good Friday
Hundreds of people gathered on Good Friday morning in Broad Street in Alresford to watch the performance of Thank God Is Friday, TGiF, a Passion Play produced and directed by Rosie Waring-Green for Churches Together in Alresford – the covenant between the Anglican, Catholic and Methodist Church – which has traditionally held events to mark Good Friday among the community.
TGiF, already staged twice, most recently ten years ago, told about the Last Supper and the Passion and Crucifixion of Jesus with a modern take, using music by Michael Card.
Richard Paget as Jesus, Paddy Roadnight as Judas and Paul Darmanin as Peter gave powerful performances that brought this dramatic story alive.
Singers and dancers completed the cast and all were supported by the hard-working stage crew.
